To be honest, I wasn't even into cruisers until about 3 years ago. When my car finally went kaput from this unreal commute of mine, I didn't want to buy another car and have all the expense down the road. So, I got myself back to my roots, biking. After my big Shadow 1100 also fell mortally from the commute war, I couln't afford to re-build that either (she is still in my garage). So, I'm looking for a new bike back in '98, and wow, I see the Savage. It's light weight (for lane splitting), a neccessity in LA, she's big enough (650cc's), and look at that ease of maintenance! Yes! I might even be able to re-build her myself when needed! I also fell for the price. So, here I am, a year and a half later. I could use a little more freeway cruising speed, but all in all, she's doing the job. I'm still on the original battery, second front tire, third rear tire, original belt, third set of front brake pads, third spark plug, second air cleaner. Not bad.
